Judy Susskind has been with The Thurswell Law Firm since 1990. She exclusively handles
medical malpractice cases and made history in the fall of 2002 by winning three
medical malpractice jury trials in a row, in less than 11 weeks. She was given the
Michigan Lawyers Weekly "Lawyer of the Year" award in 2004 for being dubbed the
"winning-est plaintiffs’ lawyer in Michigan" by her colleagues.
Judy Susskind has served as Chairperson of the Negligence Section of the State Bar
in 2003-2004. She served as President of the Michigan Association for Justice (formerly
known as the Michigan Trial Lawyers) in 2008-2009. She has been selected as a Michigan
"Super Lawyer" in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. She is listed as one of the "Best
Lawyers in America."
In her spare time, Judy enjoys training and competing in ballroom dancing. She and
her professional partner, Louis Soma, have been winners and finalists in many competitions
across the country, including the nation’s biggest competition, the Ohio Star Ball.
Judy has been competing in "dancesport" for over 20 years.
