Charity Burke, Executive Director
Charity Burke is OMC's Executive Director. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology, with a concentration in Industrial/Organization, and a graduate degree in Dispute Resolution from Wayne State University, is an approved mediator trainer through the State Court Administrative Office and has a professional background in mediation and business.  Charity’s goal is to grow OMC’s programming and reach deeper into our community to create awareness and provide services to everyone.  She takes pride in OMC as a non-profit organization providing the critical services so that everyone in the community has access to a path of resolution.  

Megan Dennis, Special Education Mediation Program Manager
Megan Dennis is OMC's Special Education Program Manager & also oversees the Domestic Mediation Program. Megan earned a Bachelor of Arts in English & Sociology in 2006 from Oakland University & a Master’s Degree in Dispute Resolution from Wayne State University in 2010.  Megan’s goal is to reach more people in our communities; to educate & bring awareness about mediation as an option for resolving disputes, with open communication and participant empowerment.  Through her time spent working in juvenile corrections and volunteering at OMC and Wayne Mediation Center Megan fell in love with non-profit organizations.

                       

Jon Fitzgerald, Civil Mediation Program Manager
Jon Fitzgerald is OMC's Civil Mediation Program Manager.  He is responsible for all civil cases at the various district courts along with the civil cases referred to the center.  In 2009 he began working for a local non-profit after more than 20 years of corporate management experience and has been involved with OMC since 2012.  In 2016 he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Wayne State University.  In addition to mediating civil cases he has also completed the Domestic Relations Mediation Training along with Michigan Special Education Mediation Training.  Jon was raised in a home where the family income came from welfare and his family often received additional assistance from generous individuals and local non-profits.  He is a huge believer that it is important for him to give back to his community and help others in need.
Joe Considine, Business Development Lead

Joe Considine is OMC's Business Development Lead.  He has over 30 years of experience with sales, and sales team management in the for-profit sector, as well as experience with development and fundraising in the non-profit sector.  Joe is fascinated by the effectiveness of the mediation process and believes in the process. His goal is to raise awareness of the services offered by OMC and ensure future growth for the organization by broadening the audience currently served by the organization.


Ashley Turner, Mediation and Volunteer Services Specialist
Ashley Turner is OMC's Mediation and Volunteer Services Specialist.  She supports the mediation and volunteer services departments in the day-to-day activities. Ashley has more than five years of experience managing an office in the business sector and is excited to enter the non-profit world. Ashley recently graduated from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in December, 2017.  She has completed the General Civil and Domestic Relations mediation training. Ashley is new to the non-profit community and cannot wait to help provide these critical services to the community.

Lindsay Gabbard, Mediation, Education, and Communications Coordinator
Lindsay Gabbard is the Mediation, Education, and Communications Coordinator at Oakland Mediation Center. Her last 15 years have been spent in different facets of the service industry throughout Michigan and Colorado. Lindsay has completed both the 40-Hour General Civil Mediator Training and the Michigan Special Education Mediation Training.  Her goal is to complete the 40-Hour Domestic Relations Mediation Training so that she is able to assist any of the community members served by OMC. Working in nonprofit at OMC allows Lindsay to see the successes of effective communication and the immediate impacts mediation has on individuals.                
             
                              
Shelby Paye, Administrative Assistant

helby Paye is OMC's Administrative Assistant.  She graduated in April, 2017 from Oakland University earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in Psychology. She has experience in marketing and promotions and hopes to use skills from previous employment to share OMC's services with the community. In addition to being on staff at OMC she also works for the Detroit Pistons and 98.7 AMP Radio. Both the mediation process and working for a nonprofit origination are new to Shelby and exciting aspects of being a part of the OMC team.
